Battery-Led Delivery for Critical Environments

GWT Critical Infrastructure is a specialist services partner working inside live, high-risk environments. We are battery-led: the batteries are where critical power actually fails, and that is where we put our people, our monitoring and our evidence.

Who We Are

A Specialist, Not a Generalist Contractor

GWT Trading Pty Ltd trades as GWT Critical Infrastructure. We support organisations that manage or sell critical power infrastructure, from a single site to a national estate.

Our model is built around capability, response and operational discipline rather than volume or transactional contracting. We shape the deliverable to suit your business: a white-label service under your brand, or direct communication with your customer once you have introduced us.

Everything we do is delivered under a management system certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and by a licensed electrical contractor holding REC 34934.

Vision and Mission

What We Are Building

Vision

To be the trusted battery and critical power partner behind Australia's critical infrastructure services: recognised for the ability to respond, execute and prove the condition of the assets we look after.

Mission

To deliver reliable service in critical environments, prioritising uptime, response capability and disciplined execution, with every recommendation backed by monitoring and test data rather than assumption.

Capability Pillars

Four Things We Do Properly

We have deliberately narrowed our offer to what our technicians can support across the full asset lifecycle.

Batteries and Monitoring

Lead-acid, lithium and nickel-cadmium battery systems: installation, discharge testing, continuous monitoring and condition-based replacement.

Battery monitoring →

DC Power Systems

DC rectifier and distribution systems at all voltages, installed, verified, maintained and modernised by factory-trained technicians.

Our services →

Critical Asset Logistics

Specialised freight, compliant battery transport, asset positioning and free-issue handling with chain of custody.

Logistics →

Critical Cutovers and Installation Verification

Planned cutovers on live systems, start-up and functional testing, and offsite test locations for vendors.

Test locations →
Leadership

Who Runs the Business

One leadership team across both GWT entities, with a single shared management system.

Managing Director

Glen Montgomery

Glen founded GWT Trading and leads both GWT companies as Managing Director, with responsibility for strategic relationships and growth. He came to critical power from the ground up: data centre construction first, then into the UPS vendor world as a field technician, and on to a vendor technical team before starting the business. That path shapes how GWT works today: technician-led, evidence-first, and at home inside live environments.

Operations and Delivery Manager, Critical Infrastructure

Duane Hines

Duane runs operations and delivery for the Critical Infrastructure business and specialises in critical assets and their lifecycle. He also leads the training and mentoring program that builds DC systems capability across our technicians. Duane began in commercial and healthcare construction, worked as a UPS technician for a tier 1 vendor, and went on to lead onsite execution of major Melbourne data centre projects. His product experience spans battery systems, UPS, power filters and voltage conditioners.

Site Delivery Lead, Critical Projects

James Hutchison

James leads site delivery for GWT Critical Projects and works on the tools with the crew, running DC power installation scopes on site day to day. His background is in major projects and high-risk environments: rail, including public-area site works, and critical cutover construction in the telecommunications industry, where the cost of getting a changeover wrong is measured in live services.

The Two Companies

Two Companies, One Leadership Team

GWT operates as two deliberately separate companies under common ownership and one leadership team, each employing its own people and contracting for its own scope, so that the right entity carries the right work.

GWT Critical Infrastructure

Delivers services across the full lifecycle of critical assets, focused on predictive outcomes: monitoring and maintenance that mitigate failure and extend asset service life without reducing reliability. Critical Infrastructure also specialises in the planning and execution of lifecycle critical cutovers.

GWT Critical Projects

A project installation entity specialising in DC power installation within critical environments. It works to regulated workflows, procedures and documentation so that installations are completed and verified to ISO-compliant standards, functionally verified, and integrated into the environment they serve.

Together, the two companies can support your product from first power-up at the test location through to handover on site, each under its own contract for its own scope.
